The Australian Department of Defence invites you to have your say and make a submission on the draft F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Public Environment Report (PER).

The PER outlines the areas in which the JSF will operate, the types of activities, risks and issues associated with those activities. It also outlines mitigation strategies being considered for the JSF’s introduction.

Public consultation plays a vital role in this process to ensure all possible implications are considered and mitigation strategies are put in place prior to the fleet’s introduction.

Submissions
The draft PERs for Williamtown, Tindal, Darwin and Townsville are available for public submission from Tuesday 6 October 2009 to Sunday 24 January 2010.

Submissions received will be considered in finalising the PER.

How to make a submission
There are several ways in which you can make a submission to the draft PER:

After the public consultation process has been completed, the draft PER will be revised and published as the Final PER that takes into account the issues raised in submissions.
